Nejar quadruple murder: Court sends accused to judicial custody till Dec 5

Udupi: The Principal Civil and JMFC Court in Udupi sent Praveen Chowgale, the accused in the Nejar quadruple murder case to judicial custody till December 5.
Earlier Praveen had been remanded to police custody till November 28, pending further investigations. As the police have completed their investigation into the case, he was produced before the court here on Wednesday.
Incident Details: On November 12, Chowgale brutally murdered four members of a family identified as Haseena (48), and her children Afnan (23), Aynaz (21), and Aseem (14) sending shockwaves in the coastal district. Another woman Hajirabi (70) was also attacked but she survived the horror.
Police investigating the case managed to trace the accused to Belagavi based on mobile tower location data and conveyed the information to Belagavi police. Chowgale had taken refuge in a relative’s house after committing the crime. Acting swiftly police raided the place and arrested him from there.
