New technology being considered as permanent solution for sea erosion: CM Bommai in Udupi

Udupi: The state government is considering implementing a new technological solution for preventing sea erosion in coastal areas, said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
Speaking to reporters at the DC’s office here, the CM said that it has been decided to employ newer technology as a permanent solution for mitigating the recurring problems of sea erosion.
Further, Bommai said that a scientific study has been suggested to be carried out to investigate the landslides and earthquakes reported from Kodagu and Dakshina Kannada.
A comprehensive discussion will be held with the officials on various issues including sea erosion, rain damage, and flood situation in the three coastal districts, he added.
Ministers Kota Srinivas Poojary, S. Angara, R. Ashoka, and CC Patil, MLAs Raghupathi Bhatt, Haladi Srinivasa Shetty, and Sukumar Shetty, Chairman of Coastal Development Authority Mattaru Ratnakar Hegde, and other officials were present.
