Bengaluru: BBMP Commissioner BH Anil Kumar informed that from Saturday, April 4 NGOs willing to donate food to the poor and needy are allowed to distribute food packets in locations chosen by them.
Taking to Twitter Anil wrote, “Under the Construction Workers’ Fund, Rs 2,000 each has already been directly deposited into bank accounts of 15 lakh eligible beneficiaries in Bengaluru. However, NGOs will be allowed to distribute food packets in locations chosen by them.”

He further added, “Govt to stop free cooked food distribution; to supply food grains to BPL card holders & migrant labour; Free milk distribution to continue. Indira Canteens will revert back to serving breakfast at Rs 5 and lunch/dinner at Rs 10 per plate from tomorrow.”
