NHAI approves proposal to construct new flyover near KPT Junction: Nalin Kumar Kateel

Mangaluru: MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said that the National Highways Authority of India has approved the proposal for the construction of a new flyover at the KPT Junction in Mangaluru.
Nalin said, ” NHAI headquarters has approved a proposal from its Mangaluru Project Implementation Unit (PIU) to undertake long-term measures to reduce traffic congestion at KPT Junction. The flyover will be constructed at the spot where Bejai Main Road and Airport Road meet National Highway 66, at an estimated cost of Rs 34.6 crore.”
He further said, ” The flyover will be able to address the traffic issues at the busy junction and tenders will be floated for the construction soon. I would like to thank Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari for sanctioning the project.”
Also, long-term measures have also been taken to mitigate traffic woes at Ambalapady Junction and Kallianapura Santhekatte Junction on the national highway in Udupi district.
A vehicular overpass will be built at Santhekatte Junction at an estimated cost of Rs 27.4 crore and a double-cell vehicular underpass will be built at Ambalapady Junction at an estimated cost of Rs 27.49 crore.
