NIA conducts searches across 6 states – Detains 2 suspects from Bhatkal and Tumkuru

Tumkuru: The NIA raiding teams apprehended one more individual in the Tumkuru district, hours after detaining one in Bhatkal, Karnataka on Sunday.
Following a search operation in Maralur, Tumkuru district, NIA officers from Bengaluru and Delhi apprehended a medical student from Maharashtra, reports said.
The apprehended suspect was a student at HMS Unani College in Tumkuru, reports added.
Previously, the agency detained one accused in Bhatkal after storming his home in the early hours of Sunday, July 31.
The NIA issued a press statement via its official Twitter account, saying that the operations were in relation with ISIS activity. The raids were also carried out in six states.
“The searches conducted today have led to seizures of incriminating documents/material.” the statement said and added that further investigations are underway.
