Chikkamagaluru: In the wake of three confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Kerala, the state government has formed mobile teams to monitor villages bordering the neighbouring state. However, Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje has a different concern altogether when it came to Keralites arriving in the state.
Emphasizing that the number of Keralites arriving in the district has increased considerably, Karandlaje on Saturday, February 8 said that we must watch out for their activities as well and not just monitor the migrants to identify if anyone is affected with Coronavirus.
“Are Keralite migrants coming to the district on their own or someone is influencing them,” she questioned. Further, she said that several of the protesters, during the anti-CAA protests in Mangaluru on December 19, were suspected to be of Keralite origin.
Voicing concern over their activities in the district, Karandlaje said that thorough inquiry has to be done as to why the number of Keralites has shot up suddenly in the district.
