Ever since Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, the debate on nepotism in Bollywood film industry has refused to die down.

A Mumbai-based comedian displayed a tasteless sense of humor when he linked the coronavirus positive cases among the Bachchans with nepotism and how another actress was the most deserving to be infected with the virus.

In an Instagram video, which stands deleted now, Comedian Siddhart Dudeja says, “Guys, nepotism is a big problem in Bollywood. Like Amitabh gave COVID to Abhishek, Aaradhya and Aishwarya… when we all know that Kangana deserves it the most.”

The video was shared on Twitter by a user Madhur. After Dudeja deleted his Instgram post, Madhur shared a recording of the original post and tagged Team Kangana Ranaut.

Several netizens expressed their outrage against what they termed as filth being peddled in name of comedy. Another user opined that Dudeja will soon play victim card and claim that he is being being threatened by the ‘IT cell’ and he is in depression.

Kangana Ranaut who has often been vocal on nepotism in film industry in an interview on Republic TV raised several questions around Sushant Singh Rajput’s death and the Bollywood mafia. Following this, many Bollywood celebs have reacted to her ‘outsider’ comments and tried to dismiss the allegations.

Meanwhile, stand-up comedians like Agrima Joshua, Aadar Malik, Sahil Shah, and Azeem Banatwalla were targeted with hate messages for allegedly hurting religious sentiments. Old videos of these comedians began surfacing online after #Hinduphobiccomedyindustry began trending on social media.

The first to be targeted was Agrima Joshua for mentioning Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in one of her sketches.
