Passenger with 13 kgs of gold held at Chennai airport

Chennai: An air passenger who arrived here from Dubai was arrested today for allegedly carrying 13 kgs of gold worth Rs 4 crore, Customs officials said.

The gold concealed in his suitcase was seized, they said, adding investigation is on.

The passenger hailing from Karnataka, landed in Chennai and was arrested at around 9 am after the yellow metal was detected during scanning, they added.
