PM Modi’s Mangaluru visit: Details to be finalized within 2 days

Mangaluru: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in the city on September 2 for dedicating Rs 1,200 crore worth of development projects and for laying the foundation stone for projects under the Sagarmala scheme of the New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA), said MP and BJP State president Nalin Kumar Kateel.

The final details of Prime Minister Modi’s visit are being worked out at the moment and will be finalized in the next couple of days, he said.

As per the details available, the PM will attend a program in Kochi on the morning of September 2, before arriving in Mangaluru at 3.45 pm. He will visit NMPA to lay the foundation stone for various projects there. He is also expected to address the public, most probably at the Goldfinch City Grounds. The venue is still being finalized, Nalin Kumar Kateel added.

Along with the Prime Minister, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal, and Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi among others will attend the public event, Kateel said.
