Police drive against harsh horns: 112 cases booked

Mangaluru: The traffic police conducted a drive against the use of harsh horns by the buses in the city during which 90 horns were removed, 112 cases were booked and a total of Rs 11,000  were collected in fines on Saturday February 17th.

The drive was conducted by DCP Uma Prashant, ACP Manjunath Shetty and traffic police staff. The drive was conducted in the limits of East, West, North and South traffic police station limits.

Drive against the use of harsh horn has been conducted earlier however; the buses persistently install harsh sounding horns. During the police phone-in programme there are always complaints regarding the use of harsh horns by the buses. On Saturday, drive against use of harsh horns was not limited to private buses but also included KSRTC buses.
