Mangaluru: 143 police personnel were promoted to higher ranks in a ceremony held here at police community hall on Thursday, July 4.
Speaking on the occasion Police Commissioner Sandeep Patil said, “I congratulate all 143 officers who are promoted to higher ranks. Promotion is always important. This is an important day in your lives as well as in our profession. Promotion will add more responsibilities on your shoulders from the previous post you were holding.”
“Now you all are ready to lead teams. There are a few police personnel asking for posting in areas where there will be no much work. We should not be like that and should be ready to take up any kind of challenges that comes our way,” he said.
“I have been noticing our police staffs. They are doing a tremendous job. It may be controlling the crowd at Mallikatte, or detaining a person who assaulted police personnel at Ullal. I want everyone to continue the same,” said the commissioner.
“There is rise in cybercrime. Police personnel should have knowledge about computer, internet and cybercrime to deal with such crimes. Cybercrime, naxalism, or terrorism, you need to be ready to face the challenges these days,” he advised.
The promoted police personnel included 3 ARSI to RSI, 29 personnel from CHC to ASI, 42 personnel from AHC to ARSI, 66 personnel from CPC to CHC and three personnel from APC to AHC.
The gathering was welcomed by DCP law and order Hanumantharaya and the vote of thanks was rendered by DCP crime and traffic Laxmi Ganesh.
