Police record statements of Vidwath and his brother

Bengaluru: Vidwath’s brother Sathwik’s statement was recorded by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) officials on Sunday.

Recalling the incident, Vidwat was ambushed at Farzi Cafe in UB city on February 17 by Mohammed Haris Nalapad, child of Congress MLA NA Haris. Vidwath gave his announcement to the police on Saturday.  Sathwik disclosed to the police that Vidwath’s friends informed him about the incident and he immediately rushed to Mallya Hospital.

Nalapad and his partners barged into the emergency ward where Vidwath was admitted and when Sathwik protested their conduct, the group dragged him by holding his neckline and threatened him.

Vidwath told the police he had extended his harmed leg and Nalapad protested it. A contention broke out and the MLA’s child and his companions assaulted Vidwath, an officer included.

Vidwath told the police that Nalapad and his partners requesting that he say sorry however continued hitting him without enabling him to apologize. “They assaulted me with whatever they found and did not abandon me, even when I fell unconcious,” Vidwath told the police.

The police have likewise recorded the statements from the staff at Farzi Cafe, Mallya Hospital and different onlookers.

Dr Anand, the plastic surgeon who is treating Vidwath, stated, “They (Vidwath’s family) are waiting for insurance staff to clear the bills. The whole charging process was settled on Saturday. We had given a discharge clearance as well. Presently it is dependent upon them on when they need to get him (Vidwath) discharged.”

The police said that alongside the medicinal report of Nalapad and his six partners from the Forensic Sciences Laboratory, the casualty’s and witnesses articulations would also be submitted to the court.

Nalapad and his partners are file an appeal before the high court on Monday, challenging the city civil and session’s court order rejecting his bail application.
