Bengaluru: The Election Commission said that South Bengaluru’s Jayanagar constituency election, which was reversed because of the demise of BJP candidate and MLA B.N. Vijaya Kumar, will be held on June 11.
An Election Commission statement said “Polling will be held from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Counting will be done on June 13,”
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) needs to get its new candidate to record his/her nomination before May 25, which will be analysed on May 26. The last date to withdraw nomination is May 28.
Election in southwest Bengaluru’s Rajarajeshwari Nagar was delayed to May 28 following discovery of 9,564 voter ID cards in a flat in the constituency. Votes will be counted in this portion on May 31.
