Bengaluru: Pratap Chandra Shetty has resigned as Karnataka Legislative council chairman on Thursday, February 4.
Last week, he indicated that he would step down from the position as he stopped using the government vehicle last week and would vacate the official bungalow allotted to him.
He has been battling a BJP bid to oust him, JD(S) supports the demand for a no-confidence motion against him, leaving Congress without the required numbers in the council to fend off the challenge.
Pratap Chandra Shetty has been serving as Vice President since 2018. He resigned today after a 10-minute farewell speech and adjourned the House to Friday.
