Bengaluru: The State Government has decided to celebrate the world-famous Mysuru Dasara festival in a grand manner this year. Preparations for the Dasara celebrations have already begun.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has announced that President Draupadi Murmu will inaugurate the Mysuru Dasara festival this year.

President Murmu will arrive in Mysuru and will inaugurate the Mysuru Dasara 2022 by offering prayers to Mother Chamundi at Chamundi Hill.

The Mysuru Darsa will start from September 26 till October 5 this year. The government has already held several rounds of preparatory meetings so far. The committee comprising Mysuru district in-charge minister S.T. Somashekar, MP Pratap Simha, and local leaders has held several review meetings.

For the past 2 years, celebrations were muted due to the Covid restrictions. Former Karnataka chief minister S M Krishna had inaugurated the Mysuru Dasara last year.
