Puttur: 6 wildlife smugglers arrested, elephant tusks seized

The Puttur sub-division police arrested six wildlife smugglers and seized a pair of elephant tusks found in their possession.
The arrested, hailing from Tamil Nadu and Kerala have been identified as Shashikumar, Satish, Vignesh, Vinit, Sampathkumar, and Ratheesh.
The police intercepted the vehicle of the smugglers in a cinematic style near Mahaveer Hospital on the Mani-Mysuru bypass road.
The operation was conducted under the direction of Deputy conservator of forests K Dinesh Kumar. Range forest officer Kiran and his team participated.
