Puttur: Police arrest 3 accused in honeytrap case

Puttur: Three people were arrested by the Puttur rural police station officials from Sampyarane village in the taluk in connection with the honeytrap case.
The accused had set a honeytrap for a young man by sending messages to him from an anonymous number, convinced him to undress during a video call and later forced him to pay Rs 30 lakhs by threatening him with sharing the recording of the video on the internet.
The man had later lodged a police complaint after which police started a probe and made the arrests.
