Rain intensifies along the coast

Mangaluru/Udupi: Rainfall has intensified in the coast. Good ran has been reported from various locations in Dakshina Kannada district on Saturday.
Heavy rain was observed for the entire day in and around Subrahmanya. Kumaradhara river filled to its brim by the evening. Good rain as also experienced at Sullia, Puttur, Ullal, Uppinangady, Belthangady, Dharmasthala, Vitla, Bantwal, Surathkal, Venoor, Madayanthar and other areas.
Normal rain was experienced in Udupi district on Saturday.
Uprooted tree causes damage
Bellare: The house and stable belonging to Narayana Naika of Balegudde, In Kalmadka village was completely destroyed after an uprooted tree came crashing down upon the structures.
On Friday night around 12 pm, a massive dried up tree located on elevated area near the house crashed down and brought down the house and stable along with it. Narayana and his wife Parvati, who were sleeping inside the house during the incident suffered chest and head injuries respectively. They were admitted into Sullia government hospital during the night.
