
Retired ACP Subhashchandra passes away

Mangaluru: Retired Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Surya Guthu Subhashchandra breathed his last at a private hospital early Wednesday morning. He was 70.
Subhashchandra is survived by his wife, a son, and his brother, Dr. S. Satheeshchandra, the secretary of the SDM group of educational institutions.
Having joined the police department in 1979 as a sub-inspector, Subhashchandra served in various cities and towns across the state of Karnataka, including Bengaluru, Madikeri, Karwar, Udupi, Mangaluru, Beltangady, and Puttur. His commitment and exceptional service to the police force were recognized when he was honored with the CM’s medal in 2008.
He also participated in the peacekeeping force of the United Nations in Kosovo, where he served for a year.
According to sources close to the family, the last rites of Subhashchandra will be conducted in his native village of Suryaguthu at noon on Wednesday.
