Kasargod: The Makara Sankramana pilgrimage to the Shri Ayyappa Swamy Temple at Sabarimala has ended and the temple closed its doors on January 20.
The temple had allowed entry to pilgrims till 5:30 pm on Tuesday, January 19.
This year, pilgrims had to book their visit to the temple online, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Only 5,000 pilgrims were allowed every day. However, not many pilgrims visited the temple this year which sees lakhs of pilgrims visit it at this time of the year.
The number of pilgrims from Karnataka this year was the lowest.
