Sasthan Bandh: Shops closed, heavy police presence

Kundapur: All shops have closed in support to the Bandh call given by the Highway Awareness Committee in protest against the collection of toll from local vehicles (KA 20) at Sasthan toll gate. There is a massive support from the public and other organisations for the Bandh on Friday Dec 7th.

Protestors in large numbers have gathered near the tollgate in support to the Bandh called by nearly 130 organisations.

Taking a serious note of the situation, the district administration has deployed a record number of police personnel. The police are preventing the protestors from stopping any vehicles.

The police force deployed on the spot include one additional SP, two DySP, six circle inspectors, 12 police sub-inspectors, 21 assistant sub-inspectors, 38 SCPC, 71 head constables, 28 women police constables, eight police vans, three companies of KASRP, four companies of BAR, ambulances and fire service personnel.
