New Delhi/Bengaluru: The Supreme Court on Monday refused to accord an urgent hearing to the plea against the disqualification of rebel MLAs from the assembly by the speaker on charges of anti-party activities.
The bench led by Justice N V Raman heard the plea seeking an urgent hearing in the matter and rejected the plea.
Instead of Mukul Rohatgi, the lawyer of the disqualified MLAs his junior lawyer appeared in the court on Monday for the MLAs. It is gathered that Rohatgi was aware that the plea would be rejected and hence he sent his junior for the hearing.
The Supreme Court decision has brought disappointment in the rebel MLAs camp who are waiting to take charge as the ministers in BS Yediyurappa government in the state.
