Shiradi ghat road closed: Lorry drivers, police faceoff

Uppinagady: Days after vehicular movement was baned at Shiradi Ghat Donigal of Sakleshpur taluk on National Highway 75 connecting Mangaluru and Bengaluru on Friday, July 15 following a landslide, a few lorry drivers had a heated argument with the police.
The lorry drivers who were stopped from plying on Shiradi Ghat after noticing the vehicles were coming from Hassan to question argued with the police who were on duty.
However, the police clarified that they were told only to stop vehicles from entering the ghat section.
They further told that they do not have orders to stop vehicles coming from Hassan.
