Due to the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic, education has gone online. People have shifted to laptop or smartphone screens via Zoom and Skype.
A video of a math professor teaching for about two hours just to realize that he was on mute at the end of the video has gone viral.
This incident unfolded at the National University of Singapore (NUS), where Associate professor Wang was seen wrapping up his lecture on a Youtube video with an interactive question and answer round. Following this, one of the students informed him that he had been on mute the entire time.
One can hear the student say, “We cannot hear anything from you since 6.08 pm,” Shocked by the response, Professor Wang replied in a surprised tone, “From what?”
He checked the time and discovered that it was almost two hours since he started with the lecture.
Without hiding his disbelief, Professor was seen falling into a deep breathing session to calm down, following which Wang said that he will re-do the class sometime later.
The video was shared by Singapore Incidents on February 4, 2021, and has been reviewed over 1,18,188 times since it was shared.
