Sirsi: Two arrested for posting ‘communally provocative messages’ on social media

Sirsi: Police arrested two persons for posting “provocative messages” that potentially “disrupt communal harmony” on social media.
The accused have been identified as Ghaus Azam Mahmood and Mehboob Saab of Marathikoppa.
Police said that the duo posted derogatory WhatsApp statuses that targeted other communities. The duo was arrested with a view to maintaining public peace and order.
They were produced before the Executive Magistrate and have been remanded to judicial custody.
