Bengaluru: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) authorities recorded the statements from the parents of Parashurama Waghmare. Waghmare who has been captured for the murder of senior journalist Gowri Lankesh has recently admitted to the crime.
According to sources, Waghamre’s parents came from Vijayapura to the city last morning and went to the procedures before the SIT. In the interim, parents gave some extra information regarding Parashurama Waghmare’s behaviour.
SIT likewise summoned Sri Rama Sene Vijayapura District Unit President Rakesh Matha to Bengaluru. He stated, “The SIT authorities have guided me to come. So, I am here and will cooperate with the investigation.”
The SIT chose to address Matha since the suspected shooter of Lankesh, Parashuram Waghmare, was a functioning individual from the Hindutva association connected to moral policing in parts of Karnataka.
The authority, from the SIT, said they needed to see if Matha was engaged with Lankesh’s death and whether he “brain-washed” Waghmare to take an interest in the plot.
Math and Waghmare were supposedly engaged with hoisting a Pakistani flag outside the tahsildar office at Sindagi of Vijayapura district of Karnataka in January 2012.
