SIT requests for additional security to progressive thinkers

Bengaluru: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) examining Gauri Lankesh murder has composed a letter to the home ministry to give extra security to progressive thinkers like Girish Karnad, K S Bhagwan, Narendra Nayak and Shri Veerabhadra Channamalla Swamiji of Nidumamidi Mutt. This move has been made in light of the statements of Parashuram Waghmore, the accused in Gauri Lankesh’s murder. 

The SIT has asked for to armed security to all these four, introduce CCTV cameras at their workplaces and homes and furthermore give escorts during their movement. 

Journalist Gauri Lankesh was killed on September 5, 2017. Presently, amid the investigation, the accused Parashuram Waghmore had uncovered that there were plans to kill couple of more rational thinkers including these four. 

In the mean time, the Maharashtra Special Investigation Team, examining Narendra Dabolker and Govinda Pansare’s murder has landed in Bengaluru to take Parashurama Waghmore into their custody, as indicated by reports.
