SpiceJet: Two new flights to B’luru

Bajpe: There has been a long-pending demand for the introduction of more flights to state’s capital Bengaluru from here and in an attempt to provide convenience to the passengers; SpiceJet has introduced two direct flights on Bengaluru. The flights have been scheduled for one in the morning and one during the night.

Presently, there are 8 flights operation between these two cities. Four belong to IndiGo and SpiceJet operates the other 4 flights.

It may be noted that Jet Airways used to operate six flights on this route till April last year. Thus, the addition of SpiceJet flights, the facility still remains less in comparison to the number of flights available last year. Hence, the fares have gone up due to the shortage of flights.

With the available number of flights, the passengers feel that the gap between the flights needs to be maintained at an optimum level of nearly an hour, since some flights depart within a short gap. The initial flight is by IndiGo to Bengaluru at 7:05 am, followed by SpiceJet within 25 minutes. The next flight is at 9.15 am and two flights leave for Bengaluru In the gap between 9.15 and 9.25 am. However, the flight after these flights is at 12:50 pm, followed by another flight at 5:40 pm. The last two flights for the day takeoff in a gap of 20 minutes at 9.35 pm and 9.55 pm respectively. Thus the timings of some flights are within a narrow gap while for some flights, the passenger will have to wait for hours together.
