Mangaluru: Some private buses plying between Mangaluru-Bengaluru have drastically increased their ticket prices giving the lame excuse of having to take a roundabout route due to the ban on traffic movement along Sampaje-Shiradi Ghat, which connects the two cities. With the Dasara holiday coming closer by the day, this comes as a shock to the passengers.
Mangaluru Dasara has gained a lot of fame. During Dasara, many people in far off places including Bengaluru come back to visit their hometown. This time, since the important highways remain inaccessible, it is causing a blowback. Now, it has created the trouble, with a few private buses increasing their fares drastically all of a sudden. Another tension is that most of the seats have been pre-booked.
