Sullia: A 23-year-old youth drowned while fishing in a pond near Nettaru in Bellare on Saturday, November 7.
The deceased has been identified as Avinash (23), son of Sundara, resident of Moole in Sampya.
It is said that Avinash along with his friends had gone fishing at Sampyamoole Matathadka of Puttur taluk. During which, Avinash slipped and drowned.
Fire personnel and locals arrived at the spot and launched a search operation, within a few hours, Avinash’s body was found.
A case has been registered in Bellare police station.
