Udupi: Dakshina Kannada in-charge minister Sunil Kumar on Saturday said that the Surathkal toll gate will be removed by the end of November 2022.
Kumar said that discussions regarding the removal of the toll gate are underway and necessary action will soon be taken.
Talking about the demand to add the Tulu language to the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution, he said, “We have initiated necessary action and the process is underway. The files have been sent to the legal department. We are hoping it will have a positive outcome.”
” Also, the issue of non-payment of salaries to Tulu teachers has come to my notice. As per my knowledge, they were appointed through the Tulu academy and were paid an honorary amount. Post-Covid, it has been discontinued. I will discuss it with the education department, ” he added.
The Minister refused to answer questions regarding trolls against former corporator Pratibha Kulai.
