Three labourers killed, one injured in landslide

Bantwal: Three labourers were killed and one person sustained serious injuries on Saturday in a landslide that took place in Odiyoor near Kanyana.

The deceased are identified as Balappa Naika (56), a resident of Alangaru, Prakash, a resident of Manila Village, Ramesh (50), a resident of Padnuru. The injured is Prabhakar, a resent of Kuttar

As per the sources, the landslide took place while the laborers were digging a hillock and preparing the land for the construction of a building.

The labourers who were working near the foot of the hillock were buried under mud, while three died on the spot, Prabhakar sustained serious injury and is currebtly under going treatmet at a private hospital.

A case in this regard has been registered with the Vittal police and investigation is on.
