Bengaluru: Two persons were killed after the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) garbage truck ran over them on National Highway 207 near Hulikunte gate in Bengaluru outskirts on Monday, November 28.

The deceased were identified as M Mahesh, and R Maruthi, both residents of Maralukuntte near Sompura in Nelamangala taluk.

As per reports, the BBMP truck coming from the opposite direction after dumping garbage at MSGP waste tech park, Chigurenahalli, collided with the bike. The two men fell on the road and the truck ran over them and they died on the spot.

After knocking the riders down the truck driver fled the spot, however, he was caught near Thyamgondalu

Following the accident, the villagers staged a protest and demanded to shut MSGP waste tech park down where the garbage is being dumped every day. The villagers who did not allow police to shift the body initially alleged that the BBMP trucks on the roads are being driven rashly leading to such accidents.
