Two youths arrested for obstructing police

Mangaluru: Two youth were arrested by Panambur police for allegedly obstructing the police from discharging their duties on Friday Dec 21st.

The arrested youth are identified as Vijith alias Shivaraj Kumar (26), son of Koosappa Salian  and a resident of Thota Bengre  and Shravan alias Chanu (24), son of Late Sudhir and a resident of Ullal Mogaveerapatna. Both of the accused are rowdy sheeters with Shravan having five and Vijith having two pending cases related to attempted murder and extortion among others at Panambur and Ullal police stations.

As per police sources, the accused along with two others identified as Rameeth and Akash had allegedly obstructed the beat police from discharging their duties in Thota Bengre on Dec 20th. The accused also allegedly abused the police with foul language.

The police managed to arrest Shravan and Vijith but Rameeth and Akash were successful in escaping and are still absconding, inform police sources.
