Kaup: Nagaveni Shervegar (55) her husband Vittal Shervegar (62) and their two sons are living a life of plight for the past few years.

Their crumbling house at Mallaru Acchal village near here is a reflection of their condition.

Vittal was a tailor but has been working as a daily wager after losing his job a few years ago. Nagaveni also works as a daily wager.

The pandemic however has made it even difficult to make ends meet.

Their elder son Sudhir has been jobless for more than a year and their younger son broke his leg after falling from a tree and has been bed-ridden for more than five months. Financial problems have made it difficult for him to seek proper medical care.

To add to all this, their old house’s roof is broken and has been temporarily covered with tarpaulin. Since the start of the monsoon even sleeping in the house has now become a problem.

The family’s near-destitute situation came to light when a team called Uliyaru Friends visited their house to distribute food kits.

The team then decided to launch a humanitarian call for them and have started collecting aid for the purpose.

Rupesh, a member of the Uliyaru Friends team has been made the nodal person in providing help to the family. He can be contacted on 9964840148 to know the ways in which the family can be helped.
