Udupi: Holiday for schools and PU Colleges in Byndoor Taluk on Monday

Udupi: Deputy Commissioner has declared a holiday for Monday, July 24, for schools and PU Colleges in Byndoor Taluk of the district in view of the incessant rainfall.

Meanwhile, IMD has predicted heavy rainfall to continue in the district. An orange alert has been issued for the district until July 25.

According to an IMD Bengaluru bulletin issued on July 23,  gusty winds of up to 40 – 55 km per hour are predicted for the next 24 hours in the coastal region. Fishermen have been warned not to venture into the sea.

The met department also warned of high sea waves reaching 3.4-4 meters.

Meanwhile, Udupi received 163.9 mm of rainfall in the past 24 hours.
