Udupi: Sri Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji inaugurates new building at his former school

Bhavi Paryaya Sri Sugunendra Theertha Sripada of Sri Puthige Matha inaugurated the new building of Kemmundel Higher Primary School on Thursday.

Sri Sugunendra Theertha Sripada, during his Purvashram, had studied at the school which is currently under the administration of the Sri Puthige Matha.

After giving his blessing, Swamiji emphasized the importance of having lasting memories of one’s school, the environment, and the hometown. He mentioned the special connection between the town of Kemmundel and Sri Puthige Matha. The areas of Yellur, Kemmundel, Kuthyar, Maniyur, and Nandikur held significant memories from his Purvashram, he said.

Even as the world changes, our hometown remains significant, he added.

When the school he attended faced closure, Swamiji adopted the school, took over its administration, and initiated plans for its development. The first phase of construction is now complete, and plans are underway to transform the school into a model institution by adding more buildings.

Headmaster of Kemmundel Higher Primary School Jagannath Shetty, former Adalita Mokestara of Sri Vishweshwara Temple Yellur Y Prafulla Shetty Yellurguthu, Veerendra Heggade Saninje, Nagaraja Acharya and officials of the Sri Puthige Matha, and others attended the inauguration.
