Udupi: Tapovani Mataji passes away; Pejavara Shree expresses condolences

Udupi: Tapovani Mataji also known as Subhadra Mataji who received Mantropadesham from Udupi Pejavara shree passed away at Ramakrishna Ashram, Haridwar on Thursday. She was about 89 years old.

Mataji was originally from Udupi pandubetti and her original name was Varijakshi. She went to the Himalayas around 50-60 years ago.

It is said that she spent 9 years meditating in Himalayan cave which was her biggest achievement. She then opened an ashram in the Himalayan region to provide food and health services to the pilgrims.

Pejavara Shree Vishwa Prasanna Theertha has expressed his condolences.
