Udupi: Writer and thinker G. Rajashekara passes away

Udupi: Writer and thinker G. Rajashekara passed away at Udupi on Wednesday, July 20 night. He was 75.
Rajashekara was suffering from a rare neurological disease called Progressive Supra-Nuclear Palsi (PSP or Atypical Parkinson’s).
He was presented with the Manava Ratna Award in 2020-21.
Rajashekara’s work, Bahuvachana Bharatha, published in 2016 got him the Karnataka Sahitya Academy Award. But he did not accept it citing an increased atmosphere of intolerance in the country.
He is survived by his wife and two sons. His cremation will be carried out today in Beedinagudde in Udupi.
