Ullal: Youth attacked with sword for questioning verbally abusing his mother

‎Ullal:‎‎ A youth who took exception to the driver of a water supply tanker scolding his mother was mercilessly attacked with a sword on Friday.

The accused, the driver of the tanker, has been identified as Khaleel from Ullal Bastipadpu.

Khaleel had been supplying water to areas near Thokottu -Chembugudde in a tanker leased from Ullal Municipality. During a recent trip to Chembugudde, he allegedly used abusive language to berate Rizwan’s mother.

Later, Rizwan picked a fight with Khaleel about the matter at the water well used for refilling the water tanker. In a fit of anger, Khaleel allegedly attacked Rizwan with a sword.

Injured in the attack, Rizwan was rushed to a hospital in Dearalakatte and is said to be out of danger.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered against Khaleel at Ullal police station.
