‘Umil’ to be released throughout Karavali today!

Mangaluru: Tulu cinema’s first graphics movie and Coastalwood’s 101st comedy movie ‘Umil’ will be released throughout Karavali on Dec 7th.

Speaking at the press conference, the movie director Ranjit Suvarna said that ’Umil’ is the first movie that has been dubbed into Hindi even before its release.  This movie has also garnered much appreciation as to be the first tulu movie in which Sandalwood superstar Punith Rajkuamar has sang a song. Lakhs of people have watched its trailer. This movie which is a complete comedy has been produced with the budget of Rs 1 crore, he said.

The animation of the movie has been done in Canada. The effects were rendered in Hyderabad and the modelling was done in Mumbai, he informed.

The cast of the movie includes Umesh Mijar, Naveen D Padi, Pooja Shetty, Arvind Bolar, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Satish Bandale, Chetan Rai Mani, Deepak Rai Panaje, Prakash Tuminad, Ramesh Rai, Amith Rao and Yakshagana comedy artist Sitaram Kateel. The movie has been produced by Karunakar Shetty, Prajnesh Shetty and Prajwal Shetty. Renowned music director Ravi Basrur has produced the music, Pavan Karkera is the cinematographer and Harish Kokkadi has done the editing, he said.

Because of Tamil, there is no theatre for Tulu!

Due to the Tamil movie in the theatre there is not a single theatre for Tulu cinema in Mangaluru. However, ‘Umil’ movie will be shown at Big Cinemas, PVR, Cinepolis in Mangaluru, at Nataraj in Suratkal, at Aruna in Puttur, Santosh in Sullia, Planet in Karkala, Amarashri in Moodbidri, Cinekrishna in Kasaragod, Kalpana in Udupi and Inox and Big Cinemas in Manipal.

Bolar’s song – Vamanjoor’s seven acts

‘Umil’ is a completely comedy movie. It has been prepared with animation. Naveen D Padil is portraying a different character. Arvind Bolar has sang a song. Bhojaraj Vamajoor has portrayed seven different characters. Since two years, the tea is working on the movie, informed movie director Ranjit Suvarna.
