UP government imposes lockdown on Sunday; Rs 10,000 fine for mask violation

UP: Uttar Pradesh Government has announced a complete lockdown on Sunday in the state amid the rise in Covid cases. People caught without a mask will be fined Rs 1,000 the first time and Rs 10,000 the next.
The restrictions will come into effect at 8 PM Saturday night and remain in place till Monday 7 AM.
All markets, offices, gyms, auditoriums, cinema halls, government, and private offices will be closed. A massive sanitization program will be carried out across all 75 districts.
Essential services have been exempted from the lockdown.
