Kundapur: A student reportedly jumped into the river and went untraceable, after being distressed by low marks achieved in NEET Exam results.
Sayeesh Shetty (18) is the student who has taken this hasty decision.
On Thursday, September 8, Sayeesh had been to a cyber to check his NEET results.
It is said that he was expecting 630 marks. Unfortunately, he received lesser than expected.
Unhappy with the results, he made his way to Herikudru bridge on the Kundapur-Byndoor National Highway on his bicycle.
The locals who were present at a distance have seen Sayeesh parking his bicycle alongside the bridge. By the time locals could reach out to him, he jumped off the bridge to the river.
Immediately, the locals informed the police.
Based on the information, the police along with expert swimmers rushed to the spot.
Though the search operations were conducted with the help of locals, strong currents in the river hampered the search operations.
Meanwhile, Kundapur DySP Srikanth and SI Sadashiva Gavaroji visited the spot.
A complaint has been filed in the Kundapur City Police Station.
Suicide is preventable. If you get any such thoughts, consult or seek expert help.
