Veteran Kannada actress SK Padmadevi passes away

Bengaluru: Veteran Kannada actress SK Padmadevi passed away on Thursday in Bengaluru. She was 95.

Padmadevi was suffering from age-related ailments.

Her last rites will be performed after her grandson reaches their native place from Singapore, informed sources.

The entire Sandalwood industry has mourned the death of Padmadevi.

Born in the year 1924, Padmadevi had begun her acting journey as a theatre artist under Ballari Raghuvacharya. The most popular film which featured SK Padmadevi is Samsaranouka which got released in 1936. She even had crooned four songs for the same film.

Apart from Kannada films, she had acted in Telugu film and had worked in Akashavani for a brief period.
