Udupi: A travel agency in Udupi has been accused of committing fraud by falsely taking money from an individual with promise to give a job in Saudi Arabia. Prakash Suvarna from Hanehalli village is the victim who has lodged a complaint with the police in this regard.

Prakash Suvarna is a driver by profession. With hopes to get employment abroad, he had talks with Susheel, owner of Travel World travel agency situated in Udupi’s Raj Tower. Promising employment Visa to Prakash, he demanded Rs. 85,000 as commission. According to the deal, on March 25th 2017, Praksh gave Rs. 25,000 followed by Rs. 60,000 in cash on September 13th 2017. Susheel, himself had arranged the flight tickets.

On September 28th 2017, Prakash reached Saudi via Mumbai airport. But after reaching Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, no agent turned up to receive him. When he called up the agent and enquired, the response was that he had arrived late due to which he would not get the job. Hence, Prakash had to return back to his hometown.

When he enquired about this with the owner of the travel agency, he affirmed that it was not his mistake. Moreover, he also insulted Prakash with foul language and gave life threats. Susheel committed the fraud by giving visiting Visa instead of employment Visa.

A complaint has been lodged at Udupi city police station based on the complaint to the court by Prakash claiming that, this act of fraud has cost Rs. 1.20 lakh loss to him.
