Vote counting process conducted perfectly: Udupi DC

Udupi: The process of vote counting of Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha constituency has been carried out perfectly. Not a single little mistake has occurred, informed the constituency’s election officer and Udupi Deputy Commissioner Hepsiba Rani Korlapati.
We conducted even the minute details perfectly. The strong room was opened at the prescribed time of 7:30 am and the voting began precisely at 8:00 am. By 5pm in the evening, all results were ready. VVPAT counting was being conducted. Everything was concluded by 6pm. After completion of the online process, the certificate was given to the victorious candidate at 6:30pm, said the DC.
41 VVPAT counted
Including 5 VVPAT’s per Legislative Assembly and additional VVPAT of one polling booth in Chikkamagaluru, altogether 41 VVPAT slip were subjected to counting. Two hours were spent on them, she informed.
Model Code of Conduct till May 27th
The election Model Code of Conduct will be in effect till May 27th and until then, ZP president and the offices of MLA’s will remain closed. There is no opportunity for new plans and tenders. A few government facilities will also be unavailable, she said.
