#WarAgainstDrugs: Ullal police arrest 7 youths, seize 1.1 kg ganja

Mangaluru: Continuing its crackdown against drug offenders, Ullal police on Saturday, August 31 arrested seven persons from Chembugudde, Permannur Gere and seized ganja weighing 1.1 kilograms from their possession.

The accused – Mohammed Sinan P (21), Hafeez Amin (21), Zuhair K P (21), Adarsh (20), Mohammed Nihal R K (20), Bishrul Hafi (20) and Zakeer Ali P (22), all residents of Kerala and were arrested on charge of drug peddling and possession of banned drugs. It is learnt that the accused are engineering college students

Acting on a tip-off that the gang was selling drugs outside college campuses, a team of police personnel led by Ullal police Inspector Gopikrishna arrested the youths and confiscated the drugs valued at Rs 40,000, six mobile phones, cash and Bullet motorbike worth Rs 1 lakh from their possession.

A case has been registered under section 8 (c), 20(b)(ii) NDPS Act against them.
