Wild Elephant Kills College Girl in Virajpet on Friday Morning

Virajpet: A wild elephant attacked and killed a college girl on the spot when she was moving towards her college by two wheeler with her elder brother on Friday morning at Nellikkadu near Gonikoppal. The deceased has been identified as Safana (20) who was commuting on pillion of her brother’s motor cycle.
Brother was succeeded to escape from the attack by the elephant whereas the girl failed to do so. She was a B.Com degree student at Cauvery College in Gonikoppal of Kodagu district. A police case has been registered at Gonikoppal police station on the incident. Meanwhile, the locals said that it is difficult to move on roads nowadays as the elephant can attack the travelers at any time.
