
Wildfire destroys 6 acres land of Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary

Hanur: A wildfire was reported at the Cauvery wildlife sanctuary in Hanur Taluk, Chamrajnagar district on Wednesday. The fire has reportedly destroyed nearly 6 acres of the forest area.
The fire was reported around 6 am near Madhuvinagudi, Sundralli area of Kothanuru wildlife range. Forest department personnel rushed to the spot and successfully extinguished the fire.
Deputy Conservator of Forests S Ramesh has said that the fire spotted in the early morning was extinguished successfully.
