Bengaluru: A woman was crushed to death after she fell off the two-wheeler and was run over by a BMTC bus on the upper ramp of the Silk Board Junction flyover on Wednesday evening. Her husband Gurumurthy and their one-and-a-half-year-old daughter sustained minor injuries in the mishap.

The deceased has been identified as Seema (22), a resident of Singasindra.

Gurumurthy hails from Ballari and works as a lineman at Bescom. On Wednesday evening, he along with Seema and their daughter was riding to the city from Bommanahalli when a speeding BMTC bus rammed into their two-wheeler from the rear, police said.

Due to the impact of the collision, Gurumurthy and the child fell off the scooter towards the left side and sustained minor injuries. Seema, however, fell onto the right side and came under the rear wheel of the BMTC bus.

The accident is said to have been caused due to rash and negligent driving by the BMTC bus driver.
